who all has a 10cc band. I was just curious because that is what I got and I was wondering what the benefits/down falls are for it from people who have or not had it.

Well supposedly it is less likely to slip. But the downside is it takes a lot longer to get good restriction. But all in all which band that is chosen for you is based on your stomach size and shape. In the end they both restrict down to the same inside diameter, so it doesn't affect your long term weight loss to have the bigger one.

I'm sure it is just swelling. But I have big time restriction just a few days out. My doctor does not do fills until at least 6 weeks out. But I have been feeling not once ounce of hunger not one minute in the last three days. and when I do drink some Protein Shake, i have to barely swallow just drops because it puts pressure on my chest if I do more.

I have a 10cm band and have been hungry from the beginning. I didn't have much swelling. Had my first fill at 4 weeks and barium just went flying through. I got an overfill and then an unfill and now a little fill to bring me to 1.4cc.

The bigger sized band is because of the size of our stomach. However, you are just out of surgery and sounds like some swelling. Hope you keep your restriction, but expect it to go away as the swelling goes down.

Boy wish I felt some restriction. Had first fill at 6 weeks 5CC's and still NOTHING. Not one speck of restriction. Go back on the 24th will have them put in 2 more CC's. Hope that helps.

Kimsretro: Do you have the Vanguard band? If so that holds more and is different. The 10cm band only holds 4cc I've been told. There is a difference in the bands.

I didn't get good resdtriction till my 3rd fill. If you look on the poll thread for the 10cc band you will see that the vast majority takes around 7cc's or more to reach restriction. It took me till 6.5 to feel anything and 7.5 to have decent restriction that I am happy with. And swelling for me went down after about 9-10 days, and I swell a little with each fill that lasts about 4 days. But keep in mind that everyone is so different.

I have the VG band, and I don't think all doctors choose the band based on our stomach size. My doctor hadn't even seen my stomach when he told me he was using the VG. He just said he thinks that one is simply the best, and he uses it on all his patients.

I had great restriction for about a month after surgery and then nothing. I got a 3cc fill about a month ago and had restriction for about a week, i'm back to nothing again. Hopefully after my 2nd fill I will have more restriction.

Every one is different and we all respond differently to the band and restriction, i don't think we can compare ourselves to one another in this department.

loveulots we are talking about the 10cc band not the 10 cm on this thread

the 10cc holds 10cc's the 10cm holds 4cc's i believe.

And as for a fill only having restriction for a week, I would say the restriction you felt was probably swelling, I know I swell a lot with each fill and it last for about 4 days then I know how much restriction I really have :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
