just wondering for those of you who had the surgery approved by insurance how long the approval took. I have BCBS and am covered for surgery but was wondering how long the process takes after I finish my 3 NUT visits?

i just got my approval today from horizon bc/bs of nj

saw my surgeon beginning of jan.

was able to get all my clearances done in 5 weeks

submitted to insurance on feb 15 with a march 13th surgery date

feb 29 they wanted a detailed letter of what ive been doing the past 12 months for weightloss with dates and amounts & also they misplaced my psy clearance.. faxed everything that day

march 1st went for pre-op bloodwork etc

march 5th i called insurance and got an approval number!!!

march 13th is my surgery ( 8 days away)

Sent on the Feb 1st..denied on the 3rd, appealed on the 15th, approval on the 17th. Pretty quick.
