How Long Before You're Back To The Gym?

Hi everyone! I was just wondering, on average, about how long it takes after surgery to get back, full strength, to the gym? I really enjoy working out at the gym instead of just the usual walking but if that is what needs to be done for quite a while, then I can deal with it.... I have a treadmill at home and enjoy walking oustide, but just trying to get an idea when I'll be able to get back in the gym? Thanks for any responses..

Randy

I was told 8 weeks before I could start lifting weights. Your doc may have a different guideline.

I have my 1 month follow-up today at 2 and I'll be asking this question. I'm dying to get back in the gym!

I was told 3 weeks for cardio (treadmill, elliptical, etc,) and to wait for my next appt (which will be about 5-6 weeks from surgery) to ask about weights and ab exercises.
