Soup

Hello I have a silly question. I am going out for dinner and I wanted to order a soup but if I am not allowed to drink and eat at the same time, how can I eat what is in the soup? Am I being ridiculous? I just don't want to throw up out for dinner. :-) Thank you for any responses!

Do not drink beverages 1/2 hour before. Drink the soup and then don't drink for 1/2 hour after. It gets you used to when more solid food goes in the sleeve. You want room for your Protein. Also liquids will flush the food quicker through the sleeve.

What stage are you?

Not silly at all. Believe me, we all had TONS of eating questions at the beginning!

Treat the soup (liquid & contents) as your meal. Follow the before and after "no liquids" rules set by your surgeon.

I assume you are newly sleeved, but you should be fine. Just take it nice and slow.

My surgeon said to drink the broth of the soup.....wait a few minutes and then eat the solid part. Pretty much eating them together is not ok.

you can always order something like matzo ball soup and just ask for the broth .. no matzo ball ... I usually do that instead of having anything added into the soup ...
