Hi..I had my surgery on July 18th as well. I find myself hungrier....well, I can eat more at a time right now. I moved myself onto tuna fish. It's a soft/mushy....and it's protein. My body hasn't had any effects from any food. I'm not allowed any milk/sugar..so I can't do the carnation breakfast. What other "concoctions" have you done? I'm supposed to be on a liquid diet for a month to help with the weight loss..but that gets hard and boring real quick..plus I was on a liquid diet 10 days prior to surgery. Hope everything is going well with you and you're feeling better. Are you still tender where the port is? Hope we can keep in touch! Take care!

Am I the only one who had to spend 3 wks on opti-fast & green veggies ? Black tea or coffee , but nothing else! {Did I fall off ? YES ! } Not terribly but now that I'm into my last week the guilt is beginning to get to me ! Sure hope I haven't screwed anything up!

Nope, you're not the only one, by FAR! (except I only had 2 weeks, but barely any veggies)

Katiegirl, I am on day 5 of a 2-week, CLEAR liquid ONLY pre-op diet and it is for the birds! There are very few options and I am getting sick of them. I hate this taste in my mouth too, I want something to chew! I hate to complain, but around this time of the day, it starts to get on my nerves. Good luck to you!

It's Got To Go: My heart goes out to you, but I have to admit that it feels kind of nice to know that u are going through this with me! Now when I get that urge to cheat I will think of you !

Kattiegirl, your not the only one......I had to do opti-crap for 3 week too!!

If I can do it, so can you!!

Cloe I meant your avtar!! I was not sitting at the computer halucinating lambies!!

Hope all your babies are well.

I am having my lap band in 2 weeks and the doctor never put me on a liquid diet nor is he going to. I weigh 327 lbs now....does everyone go on a liquid diet before surgery?

No No I was on the yogurt cottage cheese one . It depends on your doc. I was told also by some that up until a few years ago, they didn't have a special diet at all. The though is for those that need it, that the special diet shrinks your liver to make the laproscopic surgery easier. Your doctor has met you and you have their instructions, so not to worry. Best wishes for your surgery and a speedy recovery.

Susoue, depends on the doctor, some of us had to do Optifast for a two or three week period, some had to do yogurt and cottage cheese. Not every doctor works the same.

Where are you been banded?.
