how long will this last???

i was banded 2 wks ago. i'm a junk food eat, out of boredom addict but since i got my band i;m not craving my favorite junk nor i'm i eating junk all the time does this last or is my body still healing and just hasn't got back to its old ways. i don't have much restriction yet but i'm seldom hungry and then it takes such a small bit before you get that tightness in the sterum area (i guess that is the full sign) boy if this feeling will only last i CAN do this

thanks for listening!!

I'm the same way! I find myself thinking about food still, but the urge to go and get some isn't there. I haven't had my first fill yet, and I can tell that I can eat more that I will be able to after the fill, but I just eat and drink like I am. I've been passing the time reading books by Geneen Roth - Feeding the Hungry Heart, When Food is Love, and Overcoming Emotional Eating. That has helped me a lot - a lot of what I read I find myself saying to myself, "Yep, that's me!" It validates that I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I'm so happy with the progress this band is giving me. It is a wonderful tool!

OOOH stephanie you are really doing great i've only lost 14 and that includesthe prediet toO!! i haven't started exercising like i shoukd yet but i did start back to wk last week i'm a hygienist and until school start i'm SOOOO busy it takes all my energy just to get through all the patients i see i know just another excuse not to exercise!!

Alright now you may have had surgery on your stomach but you did not have surgery on your brain. When I had this surgery a year ago I thought that the weight would just fall off. Well it did not I continued to let my mind lead me instead of my stomach and got into a big problem. I started eatting things that I sholud not had and not chewwing them up which caused my food to back up in esphagus.... Please do not follow your mind.... I am hoping that I am going the correct way and tring to listen to my stomach. I have lost 11 lbs in 8 days since last fill. I am still mind hunger but not stomach.....

Please be careful about what you are eating...only two weeks out, you need be mindful of healing very well. I know you CAN eat some stuff you shouldn't, and you WANT to eat stuff you shouldn't, but that band needs to heal in very well, to avoid problems in the future.

The band is only a tool, and you will have to roll up your sleeves to do the heavy lifting, which is in your brain, like want-to-be-thin and Stephanie have posted...try some of those books Stephanie wrote about. They are really eye-opening!

Now, go be nice to yourself, and let that band heal!

You can do this!
