I Learned Something New!

i just have to share something that I think only fellow sleevers will "get". My hubby and I were out of town yesterday, and while we always pack a to-go care package with Protein drinks, cheese and usually rolled turkey slices, it was cold outside and we wanted to get out of the truck.

We stopped and went into McDonalds. Mind you it has been probably close to a year since I was in one as the closest to me is 1.5 hours away. Anyway, asi gazed at the menu, honestly NOTHING sounded good. So the lady in front of me ordered fries and a chicken snack wrap. I figured good chic would be the chicken snack wrap with no sauce.

Well if any of you have had one-ugh. I opened the wrap there were a few slivers of lettuce and greasy cheese. I began to eat just the chicken, and wanted a bite of the whole thing all together thinking that was the secret to this item. What did I find out????

I tasted raw flour and that was it. DISGUSTING. Oh crow could it be true, me...I was raised on refried Beans and flour tortillas (mom side) and potatoes, beans and cornbread ( dad's side).

I doubt I will EVER eat a flour tortilla again and as far as Mickey D's goes well...........not likely for me.

Just sharing. Have a great week.

Isn't it amazing how the things we used to really love can be such a turnoff now? If I even eat just one McDonald's french fry, all I taste is grease and it makes me sick to my stomach. But hey, I figure that is a good thing.

I've ALWAYS thought the food an McD's was disgusting and like you was "trapped" into going to one months ago - it was the only thing around without getting off the highway for miles. YUCK! I ate one bite of the burger patty and that was it. We were "dining in" so I ordered one of their ice cream cones, it was pretty good.

So my opinion of their food just went down. I didn't think it COULD get any lower :)

I had a similar experience with Popeyes and KFC. In the past few weeks with hectic Christmas shopping, we stopped for chicken. (my husband thought it would be good protein for me). I got a chicken leg at both places... it was so greasy, it made me sick and I couldnt eat it. I just do not like greasy things anymore... I was instantly queasy and had no appetite for it! I guess that is one of the many blessings in disguise!

Even with my complication, I am so blessed to have had this NEW opportunity in life!! Who needs those greasy, nasty tasting foods. It is a new way to live.

I am so excited, and I think you all are too!

I just want more weight to come off, as I heal I am sure it will.

Take care all.

If we do McD's I just get a side of grilled chicken and maybe a side salad. They only charge me $1.30 for a piece of grilled chicken and I get the sweet chili sauce for dipping. Yum. The thought of KFC scares me though.

What about KFC's grilled chicken?
