Boils

I am beginning the process of financing sleeve surgery in Mexico. I have been approved for surgery by Dr. Aceves. However, I suffer from frequent/re-occuring boils in my armpits and sometimes under my breasts. They never require lancing, nor do I get a fever from their arrival. They take a long time to heal (I haven't found a proven method that works).

Will this prevent me from undergoing surgery?

I went through the surgery fine. Although I didn't necessarily have a flare-up of boils, I did have some that were leaking. After surgery, the antibiotics and IV helped heal a few of them beautifully.

I've actually had improvement of my HS since surgery. Of course, I am doing a few specific things to help that, too. I make sure I scrub everything thoroughly every day to help keep the pores clear and I check the vulnerable areas (thighs and armpits for me) regularly for any signs of a boil starting and drain anything that looks suspicious. I use triple anti ointment if I do have to open a spot. I do NOT shave if I'm having issues with bumps anywhere.

Goodness, that's a lot of info to share in public! Yikes!

Wow! I've always had boils on my thighs and arm pits but I never knew there was a name for the condition!! Learn something new everyday!

I have this too! I had surgery under my arm put for it and now I need it under my other arm but I rather have another baby than have that surgery again it hurts allot I wash with hibiclens soap and use destin baby ointment to keep it fresh since I can't use deodorant under that arm, I thought surgery would help being the bigger I got the worse they would get! We will see in my case 4 more days!

You just reminded me of hibiclens. It worked well for me but then the Target pharmacy I was getting it from gave me problems and I haven't gotten it again. I'll start using it again as a precaution.

Thanks!
