My incision above my belly button (largest cut) has been slow to heal. Most of it was healed except for a little spot on the end that was constantly scabbed over. Today I ran my hand over the scab and it lifted off but was still connected to something. I pulled it and I'll be darned if it wasn't at least 5-6 mms of thread in a loop! I pulled it tight and cut it off. It stings a bit but it already looks better.

While it is kinda gross to have my body spitting out stitches, it tells me that I am healing and that is a GOOD thing!

Anyone else have mystery stitches?

Haha, that is awesome! Congrats. I had to pull off this stuff that was on my incision on the belly button too. It was keeping my wound open. Soon as I pulled it off, not a day later the incision closed.

I had a small loop of stitch sticking out of one of my incisions. I grabbed it with tweezers and it just slid right out. My surgeon said that happens to almost everyone!

I just snipped one last night!

This morning everything is all closed up! I guess the stitch needed to come out so everything could heal up. YAY!

LOL! From the title I though you meant you actually spit one out of your mouth. Like it had worked its way up your esophagus or something!
