So.... it was final weigh in day at the gym, for that challenge. It wasn't supposed to be until Friday, but since the 'good' weighing/measuring lady wouldn't be in that day, she did it today. I'm ALSO gonna be done on monday, and if the results are any better, we'll take those numbers. (that's because the other lady who's doing well got a couple extra days before she was weighed)

I was told on Monday, that the # to beat so far was 8lbs. I was sure that'd be fine, because I was down 9lbs, 3 weeks ago.

My weight lost: 10.75lbs and 12.5 inches (from boobs, waist, hips, and thighs)

Apparently there's another woman in the running, who's supposed to weigh-in today or tomorrow.

Soooooo.... I guess I won't know until next week. I'll probably end up keeping todays weight as the one to go with, because Sat. is our Xmas party, and it's gonna be a doozy!

Lauren still has to weigh in, but she'll be doing that Sat morning. I hope she does good. She knows how I did :|

Well done & good luck Mandi!!!

Ahem....Cloe...yeah, but the girls who had names for girls like me were just jealous cause they wanted to be one too!!! LOL!!!!

I'm a jerk. Just posted a response to someone asking Dr. C a very unnecessary question. Coulda just left it alone, yes. but.. AHH! I get frustrated, I guess.

I'm sure people wondering who this bitch is (me) will look in my other posts to see, and will see this. I just want to say to you, I was frustrated with everything, and hearing the same question from someone who isn't BRAND new gets to me.

Anyways, I just watched the finale of the Biggest Loser. It was awwwwesome. Well, the guy who ended up being the biggest loser was. He looked SO GOOD! Is it really 8 freakin' months that they do this in?!

I was also inspired, and did some exercising on my 'ball' during the show. :omg:

heh... then I go and delete it rather than face the backlash. It's not worth it. I'll wait 'til I'm in more of a mood for a fight.

Awe, I was looking forward to reading it. Thought we would see a little cattiness rather than sweetness! Seriously, these forums can be so intimadating cause it is hard to read someone's 'tone' when you don't know their personality.

Congrats on your weigh in, you are doing great and very brave.

Hmmmm.....so now you refer to Dandi as your "ball". Cheap...but hey...if it works!!!

Yoda : no :grouphug:

neenagh: thank you!

I'm about to go get my hair cut. I'm scared. This is a new place, but not as cheap-y as the place I went to last time. I hope the girl is young, and cool-ish, and feels my hair-pain. I might come back with those bangs I wanted last time... or maybe not. Maybe she'll convince me against it and layer me again! AHH! I'm trying to get rid of my layers! Maybe people with glasses don't look good with wispy, side-swept bangs?

If you don't hear from me for a few days, it's due to a bad haircut.

Mandi you have done great on the challenge, keeping my fingers crossed that you go all the way. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: i think you deserve it.

Maria :grouphug:

Mandi, take a picture of what u want with u from a mag or from the net. and dont be afraid to yell STOP! at any time during the proceedings.

Oh you bad gerl Yoda.... LOL

Omigawd! Some of my worst hair catastrophes have been from the most expensive hair places. I think that this is because these people think of themselves as artistes and therefore feel quite comfortable ignoring your wishes.

My last disaster happened a couple of months before I was due to visit friends in Paris. She gave me a perm. She cut my hair first, then over-permed it, and then I ended up looking - because I have reddish blonde hair - like Bozo the Clown! Yes, I went to Paris looking like Bozo the Clown and I paid about 150 bucks for the priviledge. Ugh! It was one of the low points of my life.

Now I go around the corner to my neighbourhood barbershop. This is run by a woman named Ashanti who comes from Trinidad. She is a tiny and very beautiful woman with hair that hangs past her waist. Her barbershop is in the way of a neighbourhood institution and serves a variety of folk: little old Portuguese ladies, teenagers, punk rockers, and people who come in a variety of colours and have a variety of hair needs as a result.

I have thick, kinda frizzy hair. I always ask her to give me a blunt cut. A couple of years back I was bored and gave myself bangs. I used my nail scissors to do the job. Ashanti was appalled by my self-mutilation but she rolled with it. And I like the bangs.

When I go in she washes my hair and then cuts it. This takes about 20 minutes because I don't want to wait for a blow dry. She charges me 15 bucks and I give her a 20 dollar bill.

I never make an appointment and I always leave in a good mood. This is because her barbershop is fun place to hang out in. There is usually 3 or 4 people loitering in the shop and these are always a mixed group of individuals. But they all know Ashanti and they are having fun chatting to each other and joking.

I have no idea why I launched into this whole long post but I suspect it is because it is because our hair is part of our identity. Good luck on your hair cut. Let us know how this turns out, eh.
