Dr. Ara Keshishian

Just wondering if any of you had him as your surgeon? I have read lots of great things about him. I have my first appt. with him on July 14th (nervous) If anyone wants to share any experiences with me, or give me advice about the process with him that would be awesome!

I considered him as a surgeon. I even talked to him on the phone unexpectedly because he answered the phone on a mid Friday afternoon which shocked me. He was more than willing to spend some time to talk to me, and like you I had found lots of great information about him as a surgeon. He was really pushing me to consider the DS though and I was not interested in that. That wasn't really the deal breaker so much as me being in Missouri, and he has a program fee of $4,000 right off the bat. So between the travel costs (flight, hotel, car rental, etc, etc) and his program fee he was out of reach for me. If you don't mind paying a program fee like that and are close enough to his office, then go for it.

Hello,

I am a pre-op newbie and am going to Dr. Keshishian's orientation in a couple of weeks. Did you end up using him? They reassured me at his office that there would not a be a program fee for the gastric sleeve. I am wondering if that changes or if he pressures to have DS. My BMI is 39.1, Im 5'5" and weigh 235 pounds, I would prefer to have the sleeve. If anyone else here is a pre-op newbie and using this Dr. let me know I would like to communicate. My e-mail is DeeThrowner@aol.com

Thanks,

Deanna
