Will I Ever Enjoy Food Again?

After all the research and thinking this is what I need to know. Will I ever enjoy food again? Or will it forever be just for fuel and a struggle to eat?

Is this why some people feel so blue? I don't want to mourn the loss of food. I want to know that one day I can truly enjoy it in moderation, just like a healthy-sized person would.

I can honestly tell you that I love food 100% just the same as I did pre-op. It took me months to get here, and I really didn't start liking food again I was at goal, and was able to really add in mor

  • This is a great question since I was wondering the same thing! I'm almost 8wks out and am still making delicious dinners for the family but after I taste it or bring it to work for lunch, it doesn't r

Thank you Holly. You are the first person to confirm that eating every two hours is ok. I really just thought it was me. It's so funny how this surgery has turned me into a nut. I question everything and constantly think am I eating too much. All I kept hearing about were people who were never hungry and that is definitely not something I'm feeling. I know everything will get better but i have to say patience is something I've never had much of.

Hi All

I am eight weeks post surgery this week. For the past couple of weeks I haven't exactly had hunger pains, but I do know when its time to eat. Yesterday I skipped my afternoon snack and worked late. On my way home about 6:30pm, my stomach was telling me it needed food. I ate my 4 oz of baked fish, 2 small olives, and 3 sliced strawberries. I was stuffed. That was all I ate all night. It is very different that the all consuming cravings I used to have that would require massive amounts of food to be satisfied. I lost 4.9 lbs this week, my highest total yet. I am loving this sleeve!

THANKS

Donna

I am 2 months out and pretty much enjoy my food, went out to TGI Fridays yesterday and ordered a wedge salad ate like 1/2 and 2 baby back ribs...boy did I enjoy it!!
