Welcome everyone!

Hi!

My name is Amy. I live around the Olathe area. I am currently pre-op patient gathering all of the required materials for insurance submission. My doctor is Dr.Price at St.Luke's and so far I love the office staff, doctor, and program!

I am 28 years old and am having this surgery so that I can have healthy babies one day and be a healthy mom. I am looking for some support from local people.

If you are interested, come on in and say hello and introduce yourself.

I look forward to supporting one another and sharing our experiences!

Now that I have been to KC Bariatrics, I wish that I had started there. I had to pay $150 for a consultation with Dr Fearing. KC wants $500 to cover their case managers, support groups, etc. and I just don't have that kind of money!

I think I'll go too as long as I'm feeling up to it... what time is it? Is it at his office there off of Prairie Star?

Yes, it is at the Prairie Star location. It is 3:30 to 5. Becky said it is either next to their office or across the hall. I figured I could find it once I am there.

With KCB, I was self pay so they just took that $500 off of my total owed once I paid my balance. I'm not sure what they do if you're going through insurance. And if I remember right...on the form when I paid my $500, there was the option to pay it in 2 portions. You might ask them about that if that would help you out at all. I understand though... this stuff is so expensive. :( I started at Malley, but ended up cancelling my consult when I found KCB.

HI, I am Tamie and I live in Lees Summit. I had my sleeve done on Sept 12 and have lost 16 pounds in 2 weeks. My surgeon was Dr. Kowalski, who is in practice with Dr. Koehn. The most pain I had was my back when they brought me back to my room. by the next day, I was no longer using pain meds and with the exception of being tired, I am feeling pretty good. I even made lasagna for my daughters wedding last weekend for 175 people.

Today is the first day that I have battled with cravings. I just really want a burger from five guys and I rarely want burgers. I get full so fast, even when I am really hungry, I can only eat a few bites. It is just strange but nice.

Your posts are encouraging. For those of you who didn't use KC Bariatric, what type of diets were you on post op?
