  1. Hi, I am a pre-op patient and my dietician said that sleeve patients are not to drink any liquids about an hour before a meal and about an hour after a meal and definitely not anything during the meal. They want me to practice this now before the surgery so that when I get to the solid foods stage that I will be prepared. I am really having a hard time not drinking any liquids during or immediately after. Does anyone else's doctor say this is what you should do and if so what are your tips and tricks? I am struggling big time with this part!
  2. Hi! My name is Amy. I live around the Olathe area. I am currently pre-op patient gathering all of the required materials for insurance submission. My doctor is Dr.Price at St.Luke's and so far I love the office staff, doctor, and program! I am 28 years old and am having this surgery so that I can have healthy babies one day and be a healthy mom. I am looking for some support from local people. If you are interested, come on in and say hello and introduce yourself. I look forward to supporting one another and sharing our experiences!

    Problems

Tina, Sorry to hear about your trouble. I have not had sleeve yet so I can't really speak to that side of it.... One suggestion might be talking to your husband....Mine eats like a garbage disposal as well and I had to sit down with him and say look, I know I am doing this for me but this is a lifestyle change for "us" and our babies future. I can not have you eating that stuff in front of me because of the temptation. so far.... he has been pretty receptive. I don't really see him eating "bad" stuff in front of me.. He is probably scarfing down little debbie's in his car or something lol but at least it is not in front of me! Hang in there!

A KC soon to be Sleever in TX

I do not know anyone in the Dallas area either. I hope everything turns out well for you and please check-in with us anytime. I still find the group hard to get to as well and I set it up lol! I wonder if there is an easier location to post the group so more people can navigate to it? If anyone has suggestions for that I am open!

    Welcome everyone!

Hi everyone! Just checking in... I know it has been awhile since I have been on here. Sounds like you are all making wonderful progress! I just had my 3rd or 4 dieticiain and exercise physiologist appointments today. I am hoping they get my packet submitted to insurance soon because I have all my stuff turned in. Since I work in a school, I am really hoping to be on the books for surgery before the end of July so I will be ready to go back again the 3rd week in August. Does anyone have any recommendations for Protein Powder for the liquid diet pre-op? My dietician said that they have to be whey Protein isolate and I am having a hard time finding ones that fall in that category that don't tast like poo poo. I did not realize there were already several members in our group! Does anyone know how I can update my settings so that I get notified anytime someone posts here? I would like to be able to respond a little quicker. Keep up the great work everyone!
  6. Hi everyone, I am Amy and I am 28 years old (soon to be 29 in June....ughhh!). Anyways, I am from the Kansas City area and am going to be having the sleeve as soon as insurance approves it. I am school counselor so I am hoping to be able to have it this summer before next school year begins. I am having the surgery so that when I have babies I will be a healthy mom and my children will be raised in a healthy home! I will be going to Dr.Price at St.Luke's. I can't wait to get to know all of you better and support each other along the way. Congrats to everyone who has dropped such amazing amounts of weight already.... I hope I can soon join that club!
  7. Just to let everyone know, I started a Kansas City area group on the social groups portion of the site. If you are interested in keeping up with one another and supporting one another, head on over and say hello! Thanks, Amy
