I just found this site and I am happy to be a new member. I want to be banded very badly. I am 5' 3" and 275 lbs. I have been heavy for about 20 of my 43 years and have tried just about everything I lose but gain it back. My insurance has an exclusion but it is through my husbands employer and they have their own insurance that is managed by BCBS so I still have a fighting chance and I am doing just that. I really think this is the tool I need to get my weight under control. Now a few details about me I have two daughters ages 25 and 21 four grandsons ages 7, 5, 2 and 7 months and they are angels. My husband is a long haul truck driver for McKee foods( Little Debbie snack cakes) Ironic huh?lol. I was a corrections officer for 12 years until and on the job injury forced me to retire on disablity. Thats about it. Hello to everyone!

My insurer also excludes the surgery. Thats why I have opted to go to Mexico. At first I was scared to go out of country for surgery, but after researching and talking with Dr. Rumbaut and his associates, I feel pretty comfortable about it. I am scheduled for surgery on 5/28. Thanks for the warm welcome. I got a letter today from the insurance company and I have been denied for the 3rd time. I don't know where I should turn now. I want this badly but can't afford to self pay. I am really bummed.
