So tomorrow is my Upper GI. I am a little nervous about this test tho. When I had the upper endoscopy done a few weeks ago the GI dr. ordered it. I am not really sure why. He told me it was so they could have a better view as to how my esophagus was working.

I got scared and asked my surgeon if their was a problem. He said that they just were being "cautious". I sure hope that everything is o.k. I so would hate to have gone through all of this and be turned down. My date is aleready scheduled for the 9th of May!

I have been doing this since last September. I have done everything asked of me, followed all the rules and all the classes. I am so nervous that something is going to go wrong!!!!!!!!!

The only thing I have left to do is my pregnacy test and I know I am good on that!! LOL

SIGH!

Kelly

Lol, I am sure you will do fine. An upper GI is truly yucky but you will get through it. Good luck!

You'll do fine. It is pretty gross, but it's over fairly quickly. At one point, I did tell the radiologist that I was gagging and he didn't make me drink anymore.

They found a hiatal hernia, so it's a good thing that you are having the test. That way if you do have something like that, your surgeon will know ahead of time and can repair it while he is in there.

This test just puts you one step closer to the new you!

Yeah, they already know I have a herina, they found that when they did the endoscopy and ordered this test. That is why I am concerned as to why! If they already know I have one, why do I need to do it. I am not worried about doing the test or drinking the stuff, I just don't know why they are doing it. I am nervous about what they are looking for, that is all!

Thanks,

Kelly :(

Well, I did it!!

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The Dr. was a totally un-sociable ass tho! The tech was really nice and saw that I was getting ready to have the sleeve and said his wife had one in 2008. He talked about how well she has done and that I will too!

The Dr. doing the test would not tell me anything. He said he will send the results to my surgeon.

The tech told me that if he had found something bad, he would have taken more pictures than he did. So, that made me feel better.

I know I have a hernia, so I hope they were just looking at that more in depth because it is really big!

Just wanted to let you all know that I survived and didn't vomit!!

Kelly :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
