New to the group

I all, I'm new to the group and this is my first posting but I have read a lot of your posted and I find the information very helpful.

My surgery is scheduled for 4/9/2011 with Dr. Alvarez. I have read so many wonderful things about Dr. Alvarez and I feel very comfortable selecting him. I live in Minnesota and we've had 60+ inches of snow this year so I'm looking forward to flying somewhere warm.

I'm to start my 10 day liquid diet on 3/31. I'm not looking forward to that but I've done a lot of reading and have ordered Isopure smoothies and Isopure Zero Carb drinks. If you haven't tried the smoothies, they're pretty good. Does anyone know if I can drink these the first 2 weeks after surgery?

What other good post-op drinks do you recommend?

Thanks for letting me post.

It depends on the instructions your doc gives you, but for week 1 afterwards it was clear liquids for me. I'd have been allowed protein liquids after that first week, as that was the full liquid stage (so milk, soups runny yogurt, etc). I think a lot of people on here have similar post op regimes for the first couple of weeks at least (BTW week 3 was mushies for me).

Good luck! wink.gif
