Dr. Daniel Huacuz

I recently contacted World Med Assist hoping to start my WLS journey. The coordinatior I spoke with gave me the name of a potential surgeon, Dr. Daniel Huacuz in Tijuana, Mexico. Does anyone have personal experience with this doctor? If so I'd love to hear about.

Hi Melissa I had a laband placed by Dr. Huacuz in December of 2007, due to complications I will be having revision surgery on March 22, 2011 to the VSG. I do not believe my lapband issue are due to anything Dr. Huacuz did wrong the band does fail some people. All in all I had a great experience while I was there in 2007 and trust him to perform my revision. The staff were all very competent and professional. Good luck to you with you choice of Doctors but I personally give him 2 thumbs up.

Hi

I had the gastric sleeve with Dr. Huacuz and since Ihave had so many complications. I was operated again due to a leak, then due to the infection I had lung complications, and now I have stents ( tubes) in my stomach that I will have for 6 weeks because of another small leak. I understand that there are risks , and one of them is a leak, but I used to call Dr Huacuz telling him about the pain I had and he never took me serious. Every time I called him, he will tell me to just walk and drink more water. Then I had a very high fever and I was in a lot of pain and he said I had a urine infection and I end up in the ER getting another operation to fix the leak.
