Craving for EVERYTHING!!!!

Today makes 6 days post op, and I'm having a bad day. I was never a binge eater, or an overeater, for that matter. More of a Pasta, bread, cheese eater and no excercise type. I'm still on the full liquid diet, so my choices are still pretty limited. However, I have been craving everything under the sun today! I want Chinese food, or pizza. My son had pizza last night and all I could do was look at it. I don't even like sausuage on my pizza, but God it looked so good. I'm hoping this is because I've been on liquids for 2 weeks now and I'm dying to taste real food, and not because I'm having some kind of bassackward reaction, where I'm going to start craving food after having surgery!

Help?!?!?!?

I definitely thought about food quite a lot during the Clear Liquids stage - it's just so boring! However, it never got as bad as it would've gotten pre-surgery - I stuck to my 10 days of clear liquids and never had anything that wasn't allowed on that stage. I was able to control myself, thankfully, so hopefully, so can you!

I am 15 days post op and I still crave food.. Yesterday I was in the car and I would have gave anything for some generals chicken with lomang noodle..Your craving will get better you just have to be patient . I am on the thick liquid and it is a little better than clears but not much..lol we will make it you just have to be strong.. I think your mind plays tricks on you and makes you want these things.

this is so weird... i have been craving chinese food since my surgery, too! and pizza! right after i got home from surgery, my family had pizza for dinner. it's so hard to tell yourself no when you're used to eating whatever you wanted to. i read someone's post that had chewed and spit a whole piece of pizza, just for the taste. you just have to find ways around it, because you literally CAN'T have it!

i'm almost a month out, and i crave everything too, but it has gotten WAYYY better than it was right after surgery. as you can add stuff to your eating list, it gets easier. i still want that chinese food, but i know i just have to wait it out. and it'll be SOOO worth it! :D

I craved food a LOT during the clear liquid phase (I think I even dreamed about it!), and also during the full liquid phase. Once I got to mushies, I was fine. Just hang in there! It gets better!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
