Lovely Gas

Hi Everyone,

So im 4 days post-op. I had my surgery the 25th. I had a hard time in the hospital even getting clear liquids down. The moment they pulled my JP drain I was back in business. I am feeling better with drinking but still finding im having some pressure and lots of bubbles when swallowing. Im pretty sure its related to gas. I didnt really pass a lot of gas in the hospital and now im really feeling it back home. Anyone else feel lots of pressure/bubbles? How long did it take for your gas to go away? Hope everyone's doing great!

I had my surgery on the 25th also, and I am feeling a lot of gurgling and gas pains too. Some of it feels almost like hunger pains. I started my PPI yesterday, not sure how long that takes to kick in. I am glad you are doing better.

I used to swallow a lot of air in the first week or two when drinking. I think that was due to everything being swollen, but it subsided eventually. Hang in there - you'll be right as rain soon and you'll half forget about the early days! smile.gif

Congrats on your surgery. I guess that would make me only 3 days post op. Getting a little ahead of myself there. haha. I have started on my Prilosec and am hoping that will help with some of the stomach pain. Good luck and hope you get to feeling better!
