I got an appt in mail today and my consult to set surgery date is July 17. Letter said that it can take 6 weeks to petition the insurance company. Looks like end of August first of Sept. How long did it take rest of you to get approved by insurance. So far they have paid for all my appts. I have anthem.

well, once it was presented to the insurance company, it took about 3 weeks for verbal approvala two more for the doc to have a hard copy. i don't have anthem.

Once my dr. submitted the paper work it took ten days for approval although my Dr. said it would take 4-6 weeks. Maybe it wont take as long as you think... Good luck

I'm a self pay and my consult appt, psych eval, and nutritional assessment are all on Monday June 26th. I have all the money to pay for it right now. If that is the case, will they usually give you the surgery date right away? I know all dr. are different.
