  1. My insurance will not cover revisions. I don't consider this a revision, I have been 7 months since my band was removed. I have had my PCP refer me..now we shall see. Hopeful at best
  2. My insurance may be the stickler. They look at this as a complete revison. My band was removed 7 months ago!! I am still waiting for a consult. we shall see
  3. I had my band removed in sept 2021. I had it since 2006. my weight has been slowly creeping up and up, I am finding myself in same situation I was when I went forward with the band. I am in process of requesting consult with my surgeon. I am not even sure if she will. I just turned 63. not sure if my insurance will even consider. Has anyone has success with lapband to bypass??
  4. My husband bought me one while i was in having surgery. I had mentioned it and it was a Godsend for soups etc for liquid stage. It makes great smoothies and does not take up much space. I love mine.
  5. It should be fine other than swelling in your belly. Go for it!!!
  6. He was an arrogant ass so you are better off. In a few months, imagine what his shallow arrogant ass will be missing out on. The old saying Beauty is skin deep is so true. Sorry that you got dumped on!!!
  7. I was banded 9/11/06. I had great recovery and have lost 35 pounds so far. I am off all meds...no regrets only that I wished I had taken Dr's advice a year earlier.
  8. It is worth the fight!! I was banded Sept 11 aND AM DOWN 34 POUNDS. i WENT to Dr yesterday and my blood pressure is lower than when I was on meds. I had not taken my meds since surgery and this was my follow up with my regular Dr. Hang in there and be strong!! Totally worth it all!! I have no regrets but we all go thru the scared stage I guess. Especially with the insurance company paperwork etc.
  9. WEnt to regular Dr for a followup. He wanted to check my progress and my blood pressure. I have not taken my meds since my surgery. My pressure was lower than it was with my meds!! Needless to say I am Medication free!! woo hoo. ps the scales are down a total of 34 since my surgery on 9/11!!

  12. What doe VSB stand for?
  13. I am kind of nervous about my first fill. Hope it does not hurt too much!
  14. At my 6 week follow-up (oct 24) I think I will need my first fill. I am watching it but feel hungry between meals and feel like I can eat more than I should. I think these are signs of a needed fill. Do you agree?
  15. HI Larry, I went for my first outing to the mall to walk around on my 6th day. It was tiring and I was sore. I was amazed how much better I felt the second week. Hang in there. I took Tylonel liquid extra strength during day as needed and the pm liquid really helped at night. I am a side sleeper too and about a wek and 1/2 into the process I woke up in morning and I was on my side!! Using a pillow to splint the port when you get out of bed, cough, ride in car is so helpful.
  16. I took 2 weeks. The first one was really needed but second I felt pretty good and may have benn able to go back but glad I didn't.
  17. Larry glad you are in bandland with us. Remember to walk even if it is just out to mailbox and back. My first week I was sore with gas and heating pad helped alot so go and use it if you need. I am on the start of my third week. Went back to work on 9/25 (was banded 9/11). I feel great and have lost 22 pounds!! Take it easy and don't over do.
  18. Good luck. This is exciting news. I was banded on 9/11 and have not regrets!!! I have already lost 22 pounds. The first few days was sore but never miserable.
  19. My dietician said we need miniumum of 40 to 60 grams per day. (this is to keep muscle mass and help prevent hair loss) and helps with hunger of course
  20. I had my first scrambled egg since banded with a bit of cheese. It was sooo good. I guess some people can't do scrambled eggs. My dietician recommended them. I was very full after just 1/3 of a cup which is amazing to me. I was hungry before I ate. I have not been banded long, just 2 weeks.
  21. 2 weeks liquid (did not have to be clear) Just had 2 week follow up and have been moved to mushies/soft food until my 6 week check up. (another 4 weeks) My Doc did not require any liquid diet before just to try to lose 10 pounds to shrink my liver. I did not lose it all but my recovery has been great so far. Have lost 17 pounds and my clothes fit me loser than before.
  22. I had my second week follow up today with my surgeon and nutritionist. Results were pleasing. I have lost 17 pounds!!! I can have soft foods and her sample menu sounded like it would be as good as filet minon!!! I was fully hydrated also which is a good thing. My sample meals are: scrambled egg with cheese for Breakfast For dinner 1/3 cup of Protein, (she suggested thin deli meats cut very small to start, 1/8 cup of string Beans and T of mashed potato. I am nervous about trying this I must admit. I am also to walk 10 to 20 minutes each day.
  23. Walking does help alot and moving arms over head. My hubby pounded me on the back like a baby and That helped too!! I know why babies cry with gas pains now!! Gas x helps too.
  24. I have the gas pains periodically too. I find walking and gas-s with malox tablets help. I know why babies cry with gas pains!!
  25. Support at home after before and during is a huge part of it all!! My husband and daughter have been wonderful!
