New Here...........5 days post-op

Hello, I am a 33 year old that had gastric lap band surgery in Sept. 2008. Never had any success with it. I couldn't keep my band filled. I would swell every time and be unable to drink water. I had numerous hang ups. Don't know how many times I felt like my chest would cave in! Anyway, I started my weight loss journey at 280 lbs, and weighed 260 lbs. last week when I underwent the conversion from lapband to sleeve. My surgery was Thurs. 12/30/10, and after 4 nights in the hospital, I'm on my 2nd day home. So far, things are definitely better than the recovery from the band. (I spent 10 days NPO after my band, because my stomach had swollen completely shut) I read the posts from this discussion forum for weeks before making the final decision to do a conversion instead of just a removal. I am currently 254.2 lbs, and am looking forward to getting to know everyone and tracking my progress. I am the mother of 3 amazing children, and have been married to my high school sweetheart for 14 years. He has never had to worry about his weight, so he doesn't quite get my struggle. I'm blessed though, cause he loves me as I am. I'm just ready to love myself as well. Thanks for listening.
