Post Surgery complications - who pays?

I am 1 week prior to surgery and getting nervous. Has anyone had experience with complications after being self-pay? Did your insurance cover them? If not, what was their reason for denial?

    NO they do not cover, thats a scary risk we take unfortunately. They dont cover any complications for a procedure they would not have covered. :biggrin0: I think thats why it is so important to do exactly what they tell us and pick a MD your comfortable with.

    Bummer, that stinks. What if I cut myself with a knife, they would pay for that....or I swallowed something, they would pay for that...doesn't seem fair. I am super concerned about incurring large medical bills from this, all in a Quest to be thin.

    I am having surgery here in the US with a group that is respected, but anything can happen
