Why Prevacid?

This may seem like a silly question, my doctor gave me a perscription for Prevacid after surgery. I figured it was because sleevers get heartburn more frequently?! My surgery was two months ago. I saw on another forum somebody asked about their weight loss stalling and someone asked if they were taking Prevacid or something similar.

Now I'm wondering if there is anothe reason my doc gave it to me.

Thanks for your help and insight!

It is for acid, and also reduces the appetite. You can buy over the counter, Prilosec, nexium, etc. The active ingredient is Omeprazole 20mg.
