Hi...I'm just curious...

Does it bother any fellow Canadians that a lot (it seems the majority sometimes) of people who post in the Canada forum are actually non-Canadians and not living in Canada?

Don't get me wrong (as I'm sure some people will..but whatcha gonna do?) I'm not saying they shouldn't post or that it even bothers me...I'm just curious if it raises an eyebrow on anyone.

I guess I just wonder why some even bother looking (let alone posting) in the Canadian forum when LBT has forums that cover all bases....I'm all for everyone sharing everything regardless of where they are from...but sometimes when I come here looking for Canadian specific things I get answers from Americans (or whoever) who think they know what they are talking about and don't (when it comes to Canadian specific stuff...ie. they don't know what OHIP is etc etc). It can be frustrating at times.

I also hope that the Canadian forum never takes on the meaness or negativity that has occurred in the main LBT forums. I'd like to think that we are above that type of bickering and so far so good! yayyy! This is one of the reasons I'm taking a hiatus from the main boards for now....but hope to still come for support (& give back) on the Canadian page!

Okay my Northern neighbors. I have a sincere question. When one of you starts a thread and puts "Canada" in the title, I pass right by because I'm thinking you only want replies from other Canadians. Is this right? Or do you just want me to notice that it's in the Canadian Forum? Because I'm one to miss that little tid-bit when scrolling through the new posts list. I totally understand not needing irrelevant info, when you can get on the General boards for that. So, really, should I ignore all Canada Forum posts, or what? Please be honest, and I'm not trying to be a smart a$$, just want to know what to do.

I guess I kind of answered my own question...if you have a thread for the entire web world, you'd post it in the general forum? So I should continue to pass by the Canadian Forum posts, right?

Yeah, I'd say 'ignore' post subjects that mention Canada... I think that's what were were going for, starting to put Canada in the thread name.

So, if we don't specify that it's a Canada specific thread (in the thread name), then we shouldn't care or make a big deal if someone, say, answers throwing out weird brand names that we've never heard of and/or can't get here. I totally get how people don't realize that they're in a Canadian area, when they just read posts that are listed in 'newest'... I've started to make sure when I'm about to post, if I've been clicking on 'newest' as well, that I'm not in the Alabama 'area' or anything.

If I have a 'general' question, that's not country specific, I usually post it in the 'main' area of the board so everyone gets a chance to help me out

Anyways, so yeah, I'd say that if the subject contains "Canada", it's safe to assume it's Canada specific, and not to even bother with it.

I hope I'm not sounding like a b!tch either! I totally don't mean to be... but I think it may sound like it!

Personally - I come here because I am 3/4 Canadian -- no it has nothing at all to do with specific band questions -- I am just curious and very interested to hear about anything "Canada". Many of my relatives are also from Canada, born and bred and ended up moving to the States for various reasons.

People in general just like to learn. If we don't come here and learn about Canada we end up ignorant. So, if it is ok I'd like to drop in now and then to get a peek into your wonderful world. I don't usually post here - ever - but wanted to share my opinion. Yes I live in the United States - sorry - this is where both sets of Canadian grandparents ended up lol

I even get picked on here for being a "French-Canadian" -- from my U.S. peers. Go figure!

But most of all - I loved my Grandpa dearly - and he spoke for hours about great stories involving his family - one sister still lives in Canada - and I fell in love with Canada before I even visited years after he passed away.

MoOrLess, feel free to peek in on us, and learn of our fascinating Canadian ways! LOL, just kidding, it's all good.

Just don't tell us to go down to Walgreens for some Isopure, and it'll be alright

I'll just sneak a peek and be very very quiet! (kinda like Elmer Fudd) lol - you DO know who he is I hope? lol He chased Bugs Bunny all over the place!

I kind of wanted to bump this topic to the top of the list. I am in no way trying to be rude or cause any problems but I do find it frustrating when non-Canadians post in the Canadian thread. Like someone else said, we DO like our US friends!

What I am talking about is when I have a question regarding something that only a Canadian can answer, I get responses from non-Canadians and then along comes a Canadian that has to set the record straight.

Info from our US friends in invaluable, don't get me wrong. If questions are intended for only a Canadian response, posted on a Canadian thread it is frustrating when people don't realize what/where they are posting.

Like the others seem to be saying, I appreciate all the support and valuable advise that all of the other bandsters can provide me as I travel this new road (to a healthier me!) but I too have to admit that I find it a bit frustrating when I receive information specific to another country (such as products and services we can't get in Canada.) So I would say to our friends in other countries please continue to "surf" the Canadian thread! Hopefully we can help you along your journey too!

Wow, this IS an old thread; one I started a year ago!! I must say though that things aren't near as "bad" as they used to be. A year ago, there was only about 6 or 7 of us posting on the Canadian thread....now look at how many there are!! We've come a long way, Baaaaby!!!!
