Advil

Before I was banded I always used Advil liquid-gels for pain relief. Is advil okay to take after banding or is there something better for us. I read somewhere that some painkillers have been linked to erosion, which one do they mean. Also can you take a gel pill like advil without it getting stuck? I'm only a few days banded but wondering for the future. Thanks

My doctor allowed me childrens liquid Ibuprofen and now that I was a year out, he said I could take regular ibuprofen tablets when I need to. But as others have said, Ask your doctor what he would prefer you use for pain relief. You can also call your docs office, they will find out for you and get a message to you.

hi all,

anybody know if i can take advil BEFORE surgery? in 2 days i will be banded & my tennis elbow is killing me....i'm typing only with 1 hand as it hurts too much!

Hi - I wouldn't take any advil because it can cause bleeding during and after surgery (any kind). But double check with your doc. GOOD LUCK!!!
