Traveling Fill Advice Needed

I am going to Costa Rica in July for a mission trip. I will have absolutely no control over food options. I am only allowed one bag under 50 pounds, so carrying my shakes and enough food for the 9 days are not an option.

I didn't think I would have to worry about this until I flew to KY to visit my friends. I don't know if it is the flying or what but I am very tight. I went to the grocery store and loaded up on shakes, Soup, Water, etc. So I am managing although not eating much. Now I fear I may have problems on my Costa Rica Trip.

I only have 1.0cc in my band.

Should I not worry and wing-it, or get at least a partial un-fill.

:help:

How long has it been since you flew to Kentucky? If it has just happened hopefully it won't last long. If it only lasts a day or two maybe you could just take enough shakes, etc. to Costa Rica to get you by a day or two. I understand the issue with the weight limit on the baggage. I am dealing with it all the time. I was always okay when the limit was 60lbs. but getting to 50 has been harder than I thought it would.

Personally, I would try and keep my fill.

Even without the tightness after flying issue I would try and carry a few shakes with me. Just in case you were to have any problems (i.e. PBing) you would have something to get by on. I ordered the travel pack of strawberry Sorbet from unjury.com because you just mix it with Water. I always have them with me just in case.

Costa Rica is beautiful!

I didn't even think about the Instant packages for shakes. Which ones are good? I have tried WW Cappicino which was good with milk.

I have looked at Protein bars many times and never bought them because I am allergic to all nuts. Most have nuts and/or Peanut Butter in them. Anyone have suggestins on bars without nuts or peanut butter?

I am still in KY until Wednesday. I have been here 6 days and still feeling very tight. I have to drink hot tea in the mornings to get my meds down. My mission trip starts July 7th.

Lean Body has packets of Protein shakes that I carry with me when traveling. They also have pre-made 4 packs as does EAS shakes.

I can see how you'd have to be very careful about the bars.

Well I am still having trouble eating. Made a Chicken casserole dish, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Basically I could only easily get down 1/2 cup of potatoes. No matter how small the amount and how much I chewed the chicken and the green beans hurt! I am leaning toward maybe an unfill to .5cc one week before going especially if I am still not able to eat very well. I won't have the luxury of covering up my food for a hour or two then trying to eat it again like I do now.

If you are having trouble eating most solid foods, then get a partial unfill. You will feel better and not "worry" when you are in Costa Rica. Make your trip enjoyable either way!!!

Weirdest thing! The whole time I was in KY I could barely eat anything. Flew home and I am able to eat a lot easier. I still drink hot tea in the morning, but then I am OK to eat. I get full on a cup on anything, but I am not PBing! Now I am totally confused, but I have a plan of action. Take tea bags and powdered protein mix.
