My Lap Band Slipped
My Insurance is United Health Care Choice They do not pay for Bariatric Surgery! They do have a clause that the do not cover obesity surgery. Even with this, they paid for the removal of the band. My band was not slipped. I had bad Reflux and a lot of scar tissue. Justification Obstruction removal because I could not eat solid food.

Bandless after 5 years
Good day today. Oatmeal for breakfast was yummy! Protein Shake for lunch. Olive Garden for Dinner for Daughter's Birthday. I had the Chicken Gnochii Soup and the Tiny Dessert. It felt strange to be able to eat without pain or vomiting. A very good strange. Logged into my Lose It!

Bandless after 5 years
I was banded March 14, 2006. I lost 70 pounds in 7 months with no problems. I started having issues shortly after that time with my band being too tight. All the Fluid was removed from my band. I still had a lot of restriction and had to be careful with what I ate. About 2 years ago, I developed bad reflux. I have been on medication since this time. I lost 20 more pounds in the last 4 months, because I could not tolerate anything but liquids. Yes, I should have not waited to see my doctor. I occasionally had this problem before, but never for 4 months. Bad news. Band has to come out. I was at first upset, scared, mad at myself, and many other emotions. I came to my senses and told myself healthy trumps skinny. I had removal March 17, 2011. I awoke from the surgery and took a swallow. OMG, I could already tell the difference! I did not realize just how bad off and totally sick I was! I have been on full liquids for a week now. Tomorrow I start mushies. I am looking forward to oatmeal. I have not been able to eat Oatmeal in...well I can't remember... years! I have already started using Lose It! on my iPhone to track what I eat... drink. I know I could easily go back to my pre-band old ways. I am and allways will be an Optimist! I can do this!

Poll - Democrat or Republican?
Republican and I am not ashamed one bit for George W. I am ashamed of the whole political system in general... too much lying and a** kissing to get elected and trying to stay in office.

Labor Day Weekend
Not Brazil, I was in Costa Rica on a mission trip last month. I love to travel and take advantage of any opportunity! My husband had a conference to attend in Cancun...I went along for fun in the sun. This month in a couple of weeks we are flying to South Carolina to pickup DH's new car, then drive to Charleston to see my baby brother before driving back home. End of September my DH has another conference in San Antonio. We are staying on the Riverwalk for 5 days. I don't plan on getting bored there! In October, DH, My Friend and Her husband fly to LA and board a Cruise Ship for the Mexican Riveria. She and I will be staying an extra week in LA afterwards for some girls only time...her 50th birthday! After that I will have to stay home to decorate and enjoy the Christmas Holidays!

Your Favorite Garage Sale Buy ~ What is it?
I had a garage sale in July to get rid of a lot of stuff we had in storage. I made $1150.00! My husband also took over $3,000.00 worth of antiques to the local museum.

Your Favorite Garage Sale Buy ~ What is it?
$15 for a 1960s Aluminum Christmas tree in the original box with the paper sleeves on each branch. I bought it because it was just like the tree my family had when I was a child. I was so excited I called my Mom to tell her about it. She said I know what I am giving you for your birthday. On my birthday she gave me the still work turning stand and color wheel from our old tree. The tree was long gone, but she kept the turning stand and color wheel. I proudly put it out along with my other Christmas Trees every year.

Need Help with What to Wear!
Thank you all! The event is on September 9th. I am going to wait until two days before to go buy me a dress so it will fit well. I hope they have that black one in the store then. DH and I are leaving for Cancun on Wednesday. I am taking my bathing suits and cover-up dresses for the daytime. I dug through my closet and found 4 or 5 dresses that will be acceptible for the dinners we will have at the DH's convention thingy. Since I don't care if I eat or not, I might skip a few and just stay by the pool or at the beach. It will be nice to get away and just relax. Hopefully the storm will be passed by then!

How are my March Bandsters!!
I don't know how I missed this thread, but I found it today! I have done well since being banded March 2006...I have lost 55 pounds! I have gone from a size 20 Lane Bryant Cord Pants to a size 10 Levi's Jeans. A size 42B bra to a 36C. I have only had two fills. 1st 6 weeks post-op, 2nd 9 weeks post-op. I have had good restriction and not needed a fill since then. I think I have 1.2cc fill now. At my last Surgeon appointment, He said to come back in December to start unfilling my band so I can stop losing weight. This is a scary thought to me. I have had some bouts with depression. I suspect the change so quickly contributed to the feelings of losing my best friend. My whole life pre-banding was about Ladies Lunches and Dinners out. Now I find it too much of a challenge to eat out and prefer to eat at home. Dealing with emotions without my comfort foods is also a bummer. I have been feeling a lot better since Doubling my Prozac dosage 2 weeks ago. I even went shopping and bought some new clothes.

Need Help with What to Wear!
HHHHHMMMMMMMM.... Lisa that sounds nice for the bedroom but not for the ballroom. Donna that sounds perfect for a tall girl...this gal is only 5'4"...no skirts. My legs are nicely tanned and my husband is a leg man, so something just above the knee perhaps. All black with or without clevage showing?

I don't know...that seems a bit formal! Maybe a short black dress?
