Has anyone had a problem with loose skin post-op?

Recommended Posts

I have bad cellulite and was wondering if loose skin is an issue with the sleeve, which would make my cellulite worse.:crying:

I have loose skin on my arms, breast, tummy, and inner thighs. My arms, and tummy are still really flabby, and I'm trying to resolve that issue now.

You can work out, lift weights and tone as you lose weight to help some. I couldn't work out for 4 months so I was late getting started. Plus, I skipped the entire month of December. I just started back today, and will go to the gym for 3 days of strength training/weight lifting, and 1 day of cardio. On Wednesday, I go bowling so I skip Wednesday. I want to get back into my Hip Hop Abs routine for core/ab workout. Crunches just aren't doing it for me.

I also dropped 113-114lbs in 6 months so I lost pretty fast with my revision. My cellulite doesn't look any worse than it did when I was fat.

I know that now that I am toning up at the gym that the skin will bounce back to some degree. I'll probably be riddled with stretch marks, but I'll keep them instead of the fat rolls.

Yes my tummy is pretty loose. I can sometimes see the my skin hanging off my legs, and my arms have a bit of the bat wing thing going on. But overall, I look much better now than at 247 lbs.

I have loose skin under my arms, my upper inner thighs, and now I'm noticing it on my tummy. I started walking 1-3 miles around 2 weeks out (I think) and then doing cardio with some light weights about 1.5-2 months out 4-6 days per week and I think this along with my age and drinking my Water has helped. BUT I still have the skin. I'd much rather be a little loose than fat though.

I hired a trainer for 6 months prior to the procedure, so I could get as much muscle toned as I could. I plan on going back to him once I am able. However, I know he "ain't got the magic to fix my tummy." Keep in mind I am much older and in will Celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary this summer. So I am at a different place in my life, but I am just fixing one thing at a time. If I have saggy skin for a while, I know I worked hard to earn it. I know I will look to this list for support when and if I decide to remove it at some later time. I know I want to wait a long time and really settle into a constant weight and be healthy before any more surgery.

I agree with the gals, loose skin is better than rolls of fat, fat in your arteries, fat around your heart, fat in your liver, etc...and most insurance companies will pay for abdominal skin removal and breast reduction. I can live with with it all, because my life is already so much better on so many levels.

Yep........ Belly-legs- Girls are deflated.............

But I feel WONDERFUL!!!

I'll take the sagging skin anyday over the obesity!!!

I lost a "whole person"........ can you imagine carrying a person around on your back all day?????

Was not fun......... so yea..... I'm proud of the sagging skin!!:)

My skin isn't all that bad for losing 100 lbs. My legs are good because I have been doing weight training for the past 5 years.

My arms are the worst. I have the bat wings going on and I hate it. At least they can be covered up with clothes. Same with the boobs. I never had boobs to begin with, so now what little I have left are pretty deflated.

I really want to get a face lift pretty badly. I hate my turkey neck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
