Seeds?....

Help! I have nothing from my Dr. or nutritionist that mentions seeds from fruit used in shakes. I have been practicing recipes for protein shakes with my Magic Bullet (love it!), but need clarification on this seed issue (raspberries, strawberries, etc). I plan to ask this question at my preop appointment this week, but wanted to get input here too. Thanks.

I was told absolutely NO fruit with seeds. I had to wait until I was cleared for regular food to have any. I even had to watch that with yogurt. They were worried about seeds getting stuck in the staple line, don't know if this is really as big of an issue as they made it, but I of course listened to my doctor. I'd be curious to see what yours says.

I just now got the OK to eat strawberries and raspberries. I had surgery 10/15. They want to make sure the staple line is fully healed so seeds can't get stuck in there.

So I had pre-op yesterday and asked my seed question. The initial response was "no seeds", but then I was told strawberry seeds were OK. I was also put on a diet of 4 protein shakes per day which caught me by surprise. I thought, "but wait...I haven't had my last sushi yet!" So i've been on shakes, but had the "last supper" tonight. I almost cried....so pathetic. I am only 1 week away though and sooooo excited!!!

Surgery is paid for. There's no turning back!

Kelly -- that's awesome - where did you decide to have your surgery done and by who? We're going to have to get together again with the other VSGers here in Las Vegas - we missed you at the last one!
