It seems to me that ever since I made the decision to get my band (and has the insurance to cover it) I have been anxiously waiting and waiting to have my first surgical consult. I have gone to two different informational seminars (two different doctors) and now I am just waiting until the 12th when I meet with my surgeon for the first time. Only 10 days to go and my nerves are getting to me everyday.

I am beyond ready to be banded and I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines when I take my daughter places and they cannot accommodate my 350lb body. I know it is going to be a tough journey but I'm ready to start this!!

lol unfortunately patience is the name of the game both before and after the band.

I'm not sure when you made your appt but one thing to be mindful of when choosing a surgeon is how busy they are. If they always seem to schedule you a month+ out than be concerned that if you need a fill, emergency followup etc that it may not be as convenient as you need it to be.

Good luck hon, see you on other side of the band :)

Good news my friend...you are in the tough times now! Waiting for surgery day and everything that leads up to it is/are far worst than you'll experience after day 2 with your band. I'm excited for you and all of the wonderful changes you are about to experience. I'm so glad I did it, my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

The length off time between scheduling is actually why I chose to switch to the doctors office I am more going to be going to. The other doctor I was going to wad having me wait 2 months before my first consult with the surgeon. The one I just switched to is only having me wait 2 weeks while they fill the group (group appt I guess). I am super excited and anxious for the 12th

Good luck! I was banded back on July 9th. It all goes by fast so take a deep breath and try to relax. The surgery itself was really a big nothing for me. Sore for a few days. Just stick to the diet you're given and you'll be great. Keep us updated and again, congrats and best of luck to you!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
