Hello, I felt the same way. My date is set for 7/10/13. As the time passes it gets easier. I think my headaches are from thinking too much; the anticipation of surgery and all the what ifs. Hang in there. Good luck. :)

I am watching this thread because when I get there I cannot take exceeding for my migraines. That is what I usually take to stop them early. Otherwise I need prescription......ie, sumatriptan. Anyway, I hope you feel better very soon!! How long are you on the liquid diet before your surgery?

I'm on all liquids from July 4-8 then all clear 8-9. I spoke to my surgical nurse she says it sounds like my protein levels are too low

thanks ladies! good luck on the 10th thumbs up!!!

Headaches are common on the liquid diet both pre and post op. The reason is, you're likely not getting enough nutrients. Can you take Vitamins? If so, definitely do. If you can add another Protein shake (or two) in it will help as well.

Also, can you have caffeine? For me, Tylenol alone is useless but if I have some caffeine with it (like strong coffee) it helps my headaches. This is why they put caffeine in Excedrin, too.

Hang in there!

I do take a multi-vitamin daily. Surgical nurse says to increase protein to 130-150g a day; sounds like a lot but it made sense

It may be from chemicals that your body is having withdrawals from, could be caffeine or any other things it has been used to. It should pass.
