July 25 is my day

So I've been kicking around the lap band idea for a while now. I am 5'2"and currently weigh in at 260lbs. My back hurts, my hips hurt, my knees hurt, my feet hurt. I don't know how I came to be this way at 34. PCOS plus pregnancy 5 years ago started the ball rolling. It seems over the years the harder I try to lose. ... the more I gain. So. ... I've gone and done IT. I've scheduled my lap band procedure. I start my Protein diet on Monday the 1st. I was told I can have unlimited Protein shakes and eat only protein. I'm not 100% sure I can do it. ..but I'm gonna give it my all. I hope I can find support here as no one in my family would approve. I come from a long line of short round women who just accept it as a way of life. I don't want to be this way and I'm doing something about it.

If anyone else starts their journey on July 25 maybe we can walk this road together.

Wish me luck. I'm doing this first for myself and second for my 5 year old son. I'm a single mom and I have to be here for him because I'm all he has.

Ok... I just had my first Protein shake and let me tell you this crap is horrible!!!! Does anyone have any suggestions to make this stuff bearable? I got down quite a bit of it.... but I can also suffer shots of tequila easier. Heellllpppp...

Buy the Protein Shake that you can stomach the best then check out bariatricfoodie.com for recipes to make the.protein shakes pre op friendly and yummy at the same time!

Went shopping for Protein shake mix. Picked up New whey liquid Protein tubes in grape flavor. And a big jug of body fortress super advanced whey protein. Not really sure what I should be looking for on the labels.... anyone have a good list of dos and don'ts when it comes to protein skakes and or mixes?

Body fortress is what I use. Here is what I was told about the shakes...per serving at least 20 grams of protein, 7 grams or less of carbs/sugars and 5 grams or less of fat. Body fortress is what I use.

Thanks.. I'm gonna do that. Not really sure what I SHOULD be eating or how much. Mainly on protein shakes and snacks (beef jerky, strawberries, carrots, and cottage cheese).

The girl 79 try lean shakes at GNC pretty good!

They are really good. The downside is the sweetness. They are just too sweet for me

You will get used to the sweetness but its better than you thought right!

It tastes like a strawberry shake!
