Pre-Op Shakes

Hello!

I begin my liver reduction diet on Sunday per my own initiative after discussing it on here with all of you...my surgeon isn't requiring it. I am so excited! However, because I will be on liquids for virtually 4 weeks beginning Sunday, I want to know how you all "change it up" with your shakes. Currently I have vanilla, unflavored, and some chocolate Protein powder. I need to get more chocolate. I would like to get some suggestions from all of you on how to keep variety in my liquid diet. Here's my plan so far:

-Add peppermint extract to chocolate shake

-Add unflavored powder to broth

-1 sugar free Jello per day

-Add cinnamon and stevia to vanilla shake

Any other good suggestions while in the liquid phase?? Thank you in advance! Good work to all of you!!!!

I just ordered the iced latte n orange cream from barriatric advantage as well to change it up. Ur awesome for starting soon then u need to :) I'm in day 5 n Si far so good. I get banded July 1 so this is my summer of liquid diet not my usually liquid of choice lol but more excited for my weightloss. Good luck

I believe there are quite a few clear protein drinks now. Check them out. Special K has a powder. I really like the Crystal Lite drinks, too. Make a 1/2 gal or gal jug of it, and you can drink for a few days. I am like the readsetgo611 lady, I like my shakes or smoothies to have a thicker consistacny, so I use ice in my machine. And love the orange cream. Best wishes. Karen

I add instant decaff coffee (Nestle) to fat-free milk + vanilla flavored protein mix = it tastes like capuccino.

Thank you everyone! Do you think I'm "allowed" to add PB2, the powdered peanut butter? I know it'll be added calories but if I exercise and keep it at my 500 calorie goal on my fitness pal, I should be ok? Or is that cheating?

It might be ok, if you burn it off.

I have to share this with y'all because I just discovered it and it is so good! I've had a terrible time finding a shake I could stomach, and I found 2 today! For both I use the Isopure zero carb unflavored powder.

The first one tastes just like a wendy's frosty, no joke! It's just 5- ice cubes, 8 ounces skim milk, 2 tbsp LITE hershey's chocolate syrup (only 45 calories), and 1 scoop of the Protein powder. It is so good! I also tried putting it in the freezer because they always get so frothy and I hate that, but after putting it in the freezer for about 30 minutes and then mixing it all with a spoon it was just like the frosty consistency and not frothy. Best one I've tried!

I also did one the other day with the same Protein Powder but mixed 1 cup frozen peaches, 1 cup frozen strawberries, a cup of crystal lite lemonade, and then added some spinach and ground flax (optional, you can't taste either one at all) It's very good also and tastes like frozen lemonade almost but I didn't freeze that one so it was pretty frothy. Just thought I'd let those of you who haven't found one you like that these are great! I'm sure you could use any unflavored powder, but the Isopure is really great and I really don't taste it at all, no after taste or anything!

Such a good suggestions!! I have 3lbs of isopure unflavored at home. I will have to get frozen fruit, though. I only have blueberries.
