I also was banded on Friday 6/14/13. Still have pain & gas, but not too bad. Biggest challenge is that I feel like in starving! Having 3 protein shakes a day = about 500 cal day. Can add 2-3oz of mushy protein on the 21st, but really sick of this feeling of a constant gnaw in my belly. If I don't get my first fill for about a month - how do I stop the hunger pains??

I was banded a week ago tomorrow and asked the EXACT same question. I assumed its the drastic reduction in calories. Called the docs office and they said to double up on shakes or get ones with more protein. I'm so sick of the shakes already I just can't pull myself to do either.

I have felt not so weak and shaky today, so it gets better. Hang in there.

My doctor told me that another patient told him that GNC I believe sold protein shots. Not needle shots but a small container of protein that had about 60 grams in it. I think I am going to go look for it on tomorrow. I am still not really hungry and I don't want to force anything and end up heaving it back up which will not be good for the band.
