May 5, 200620 yr Welcome! Probably won't get many responses to that here... this is for saying something like "Hi, my name is Bob... I live in Kalamazoo... I have 3 cats... getting banded soon." Try asking in one of the other areas, such as : http://www.lapbandtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=17 Good luck !
May 5, 200620 yr Sheree, would you belive my daughter's name is Sheree. I wanted to let you know that I went for my banding on April 9th and it was done on April 10th by Dr. Kuri's team. What a wonderful experience, not what I expected at all. The hospital is beautiful, cleaner than any I have seen in the US, I choose to stay at the hospital which was very pleasant. Make sure that you take Snacks for after your blood work. It is a long day to wait to have a bite. Also, I have had some port pain so I would take a heating pad for the gas in case you get it. Anyway, good luck. I know you will love it there. Elaine
May 5, 200620 yr Author I don't find many people with their first name spelled like mine! How are you doing with your weight so far? This will be our second trip to Mexico, the first went well,We were impressed with the hospital and the doctors! take care,Sheree a.
May 6, 200620 yr I am only about an hour and a half from the border so it is easy for me to go to MX even though I havn't gone for my fill yet, probably the end of this month. I have lost 15 lbs in three weeks. Just feeling better from the surgery, I don't take surgery well. Where are you located. Congratulations to your hubby, I do think men lose much faster than women do. Congrats on your band date.:clap2:
May 6, 200620 yr Author Redding Ca. here,we have to drive two hours to the airportthen the plane ride is about 1 3/4 hrs. not too bad except that after surgery the car ride is a little to much! I'm happy to see that we are the same age and having this done, most of the people going trough this seem to be in their twenties and thirties, not that I think I'm old or anything!HaHa The women I have talked to seem to average around 5 pounds a week, that works for me!!!If you go down to have fill at the end of the month maybe I'll see you there,we fly in on the 31st. keep up the good work!!!!!!!!Sheree a.
May 20, 200620 yr Sheree, let me know how the fill goes. Can't remember if you see Dr. Kuri or not. I heard that he does pretty good fills. I'm kind of skerd of the fill, I'm a big baby and don't like pain. I won't be getting down there until the middle of June as my schedule has not permitted it yet. I know I am somwhere between 15 and 20 lbs. so far. My band date was 4/10/06. My scales are kind of weird and I won't really know until I go for my fill. Good luck on your venture to Mexico next week end. Elaine
May 22, 200620 yr Hi - I was banded on May 11th - Dr Kuri - he is great, everything went like clockwork and I am still so blown away that I actually did this. Have lost about 12 pounds in 11 days but I am expecting that when I go on soft foods, things will change. Good luck and congrats Reb
May 29, 200620 yr Sheree, you must be getting very excited and nervous about your June 1st banding. Hope you are able to relax, it really does go by quickly and you will be back to normal in no time. I am now at I think 7 weeks. I have lost about 20 lbs. I am going to TJ for my first fill on June 17th. I am just about back to normal. I don't have any pain but still getting used to not eating too fast and chewing my food better, also, getting used to the port being on my left side. Who is doing your surgery? Keep in touch before and after your surgery. Elaine
Is anyone getting banded in TJ by Dr, Kuri on June 1st?:grouphug:
