Thank you so much!!

I wanted to thank everyone on this site for their wonderful replies to my topics as well as others that come through. Your thoughts, kind words, and help are wonderful for all. My doctors office has monthly support meetings which I have been going to every other month since my surgery in November (1.5 hour drive for me each way). I went down last night for the meeting and left feeling very frustrated. All of the people who were at the meeting had had gastric bypass. Not one person besides myself had lap band. (Has been like this for a couple of months now). I left there feeling a very big disconnect because their problems were not my problems and vice versa. I had no one to bounce ideas, concerns, or issues off on because they just didn't get it. I got home and told my husband that I don't think I am going to go to the support group meetings anymore. I was not able to relate much and I feel I get more support and encouragement from this site. Thank you again for all your support. I don't know what I would do without it.

I agree with you this site has really been helpful! I don't have support groups where I live and where I had surgery is 4 hours away, also I don't personally know anyone with the lap band so I would be pretty lost without this site,

I'm sorry you had to drive so far and not have the meeting be helpful. Good Luck :)
