Was wondering the same thing! I'm getting banded during my beach volleyball season and want to return for the end of the season! If anyone knows please let me know! :-)

Follow your doc's orders, but I was told to not to do anything other than walking for the first month because you're still healing internally. I did try some slow jogging and elliptical machine too. Just kept it easy until I got cleared to work with my trainer. Here I am 10 months post surgery. During the last 10 months I've done Tough Mudder, Ragnar relay (2x), numerous 10k races and 2 half marathons. Who would've thought!?

my doc says at least 6 weeks to do anything strenuous... I think by 6 weeks you should be able to play your sports.. I started riding my horse again @ 6 weeks and have had no problems plus I walk 2 miles a day ...haven't started doing anything else yet.. but I am finally getting more mobile...

It's up to your Dr.....I was released to do just about anything after 1 week....then he said go easy with weight lifting for 2-3 weeks.....

But now, I do whatever I want as though the band was not even there....so it does not Handicap you from your normal day to day.....
