Had surgery today

It went really well! Have been sleeping on and off. I lost over 16 lbs on the pre-op diet. Yay! Pain is tolerable. Just an ache between my shoulder blades and it feels like I have done a million sit ups when I try to get up or down. My husband, Mom and kids have been so helpful and supportive! Looking forward to getting on with my life, being smaller and healthier! Cheers to all of you for the inspiration you have provided.

I was wondering how you were making out, see, it wasn't so bad..jk. Remember your pain meds, remember your GasX, remember to walk, remember to sip sip, sip, and remember that each day will get better. Oh, wait, day 3 might be a kicker but you'll get through that. Stay warm, enjoy some tv and let others do for you for the next little bit. Just concentrate on you. Take care !

Glad to hear that all went well. Wow 16 lbs on pre-op is making the Slimtime shakes sound better to me. Rest up and enjoy your family's company.

You are well on your way Mandy! Great job and all the best to you on your journey :) John

Great job hope all is well with you !!

All is going really well! Better than I could have hoped for! I had a hair appt yesterday that took hours and I had no issues. I am following my instructions and the gas dissipated yesterday. I am taking it easy but off of the painkillers, driving, and feelng good! Out grocery shopping today (of course no lifting!) So excited for the future!! Thanks everyone for your well wishes!

Hey mandymoo,

I'm sistercin and you have made my day. I've been reading such negative post that I told my husband this morning that I didn't think I could do the band....mine set for April 19...I've been waiting to hear someone with great news and you've done it for me. I'm sooo glad you're doing well. I've gotta think positive and do this for me and my family. Please keep me and others like me updated on your success. Keep doing what you're doing!!!!

Way to go, you're an inspiration to others!

So glad to hear that you are doing well after your surgery. Take it day by day and only one day at a time. You have the support here that you need if you have questions. :0)

Aw thanks everyone! I actually ended up going to a rock concert with my Husband on Sunday night about an hour away from where we live. I had no issues standing for 4 hours in a crowd! My husband was very protective and we were smart about it (stayed away from the rowdies). I was a cheap date, one bottle of water lasted me the entire night. I was not any more sore afterwards nor the next day. I was off yesterday so we did some running around and I had a nap after such a late night. I am up and in at work today...still feeling awesome and following all instructions!! I do notice I feel tighter in the mornings (chest area) so I only sip water for a few hours before I have a protein shake or a fat free yogurt drink. I really appreciate everyone's kind words and being able to ask anything on this forum. I do not take my quick recovery for granted and feel for those that are healing a little slower. My advise is following direction. If you are unsure, be conservative! Happy Tuesday!!

Good for you, this is going to be a great summer, enjoy!
