Graves disease

Hi all! I'm new to this. I'm considering the lap band. My first seminar is on the 28th. I have Graves' disease , so I'm wondering if I should even bother? But.... My sleep apnea is pretty bad and I've heard really good things about it helping people with that. I have been overweight for 19 years and I feel horrible about it and I think I've pretty much tried every diet known to mankind! My husband wants to renew our vows on our 25th wedding anniversary ( 5 yrs) I can't imagine being like this and feeling very good about it. I would appreciate any kind of advice. Thank you

Graves' disease is an autoimmune disease. It most commonly affects the thyroid, frequently causing it to enlarge to twice its size or more (goiter), become overactive, with related hyperthyroid symptoms such as increased heartbeat, muscle weakness, disturbed sleep, and irritability. It can also affect the eyes, causing bulging eyes (exophthalmos). It affects other systems of the body, including the skin, heart, circulation and nervous system.

Yes my Dr says it's a great idea. I have a 2nd opinion on Tuesday . I just know there's been some people that have had it done with graves. I was hoping there were some people on here with some information from their own experience on here to give me some insight.

Thanks!
