Erosion - symptoms?

I've been reading and have seen that several of you had erosion issues. Were there any symptoms? How did you figure it out? Was it just something caught at a regular check-up? I'm feeling a bit worried right now - I started feeling real light-headed and cold sweat-ish tonight and, worrywart that I am, one of the thoughts that crossed my mind was, what if something's gone haywire and I'm bleeding internally? :phanvan So if there were erosion, would I notice anything outside of a check-up? Thanks for any help.

Symptoms: I had none immediately. I just "felt" this odd sensation in my gut. I knew something was wrong. Even the doctor was surprised I had eroded. Some people do have loss of restriction. I suggest you do a search on EROSION and you will find lots of info.

You might not notice anything wrong. It is recommended to get an Endoscopy (the only way to truly diagnose Erosion) at 1 year out. I eroded at 18 months.

Thanks, Penni! I'm fairly sure I'm just being a worrywart and this feeling has nothing to do with the band, but then, I'm a worrywart. :Banane56: I'll search and see what I find, and if I continue to be concerned, I'll go see my doc.

Endoscopy 1 year to 18 months after LAP-BAND® is the most recommended kind of "maintenance" one can have. This will help us make sure everything is doing fine with our LAP-BAND®, our pouch, etc. In Tijuana, Mexico, you can get it done very affordably (about $400) if you search well. I will have mine done next year, around may 2010:thumbup:
