Lap Band v. Realize

My surgeon makes the decision as to whether or not she's using the lap band or the realize during surgery, on an individual patient basis. She decided that, for me, the realize would be the best fit.

Any other realizers here?

I'm just nervous because I read that there was a realize recall in 2010. Not cool.

  • I had the realize put on in dec 2012. After a recall I would expect it to be super safe now.

  • As long as you trust your doctor, trust his decision.

  • I have the Realize band. Surgery was April 2012. It was also my Doctor's personal choice to go with it as well. I put my trust in him and so far it's working out great!!

I had a choice as well but my Dr prefers the lap band so that is what I am going with.

. He then held up the band and said "I want to introduce you to your newest and best-est friend. You treat this friend right and work with him the rest is gravy" LOL

My doc even went a step further after showing me the $20,000 piece if equipment he was placing in me he gave me the box for keepsake and the instruction manual lol
