I am interested in finding out how many of us have or had diabetes. I will be banded in about a month or so and I would like to hear from people on how having the band has changed their diabetes. I am hoping I will lose enough that the diabetes will go away. Look forward to hearing from you guys.

I have type 2 diabetes. I was banded 1/17/13. My sugars have been really good and I haven't had to use the sliding scale too often, however, I still use Levemir I the am and pm but I went from 28units 2times/day to 14 units. I'm going to see my PCP this week because a few times I woke up and my sugar was 49! I'm hoping that he will give me thumbs up to stop using Levemir at bedtime! I'm so anxious to be done with sticking myself!!!!

I'm type 2 diabetic. Pre op I was on metformin and Byetta injections. I no longer require medication to control my diabetes, this happened pretty much a week or so after surgery. My last hba1c was 4.9 which is considered non diabetic
