My doctor and nutritionist both say it's fine to skip a meal if you're not hungry. In fact, they say to never eat just to increase calories. Learning to listen to your body's natural hunger signals

I can usually go 5 hour without being hungry. A lot of times I will skip lunch when I am in the Office because 1. I am just busy and 2. I am not hungry and "forget" to eat.

Is it ok to "skip" a meal, if one is truly not hungry? Today I had oatmeal for breakfast, a salad with baked salmon for lunch and a greek yogurt for an afternoon snack. I took a nap in the afternoon and when I woke up I really wasn't hungry for a dinner. Do I force myself to eat so that I have the daily caloric minimum?
