B/p meds not keeping it down.

Recommended Posts

I started my journey in November. I was diagnosed with hypertension. Right now I am 5'6 and 230. I have been on meds since then. Last week I went for my 2nd month of my 6 supervised diet and my b/p was still high. He added a Water pill but it concerns me that even being on these meds- it's still high.

Make sure you are watching your sodium intake and drinking a lot of Water exspecially taking a water pill.

Try not to fret too much as that can increase it too. Definitely watch your sodium intake and avoid adding salt to your foods, if possible. Many processed foods are very high in sodium too.

Lastly, there are many different kinds and brands of BP meds. Not all work for everyone. Also, it takes a lot of tweaking (kind of like getting fills w/ the band ) till they find the right dosage for you. It will come down. They just need to do it gradually to find the right level. I have been on 3 or 4 different ones and doses till they found the right mix for me. Also, when they added one w/ the Water pill for me that made all the difference.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
