PCOS and weight loss

Is there anyone out there that had pcos and was able to lose weight with the band? I'm worried I won't lose weight even with the right tools.

I have seen others here who have been successful. I am sure someone will post.

I have pcos and i got banded 4 weeks ago . So far i have lost 20 lbs. i also take metformin and spyrolactin to help me wiyh my pcos. You can do it. Over the past 20 years i have been on so many diets - i would lose and then gain it all back plus some. The band has really made a big difference. I am so glad i decided to get the band. Good luck on your journey

It is good to hear. I'm also on metformin. Would like to get off of it. I am losing my hair so bad. Anyways did you lose weight preop? I have to do only three Protein shakes a day two weeks before surgery.

I haven't a clue what pcos is.....off to google. ;)

Ok I googled it and ....nope I don't have it. But I am sorry you do.

I would ask you surgeon how this might affect your weight loss. Good luck with your journey.

I take Biotin for hair loss. So far i havent lost my hair. I lost 8lbs pre op. i had the same plan preop. For the first time i really feel that i am going to lose and keep it off. I was a true chocoholic and after surgery i have not had any cravings. You can do it.

I have had pcos for over 15 years. I have lost 85 lbs since being banded 15 months ago. I will say that I've had to work a lot harder in the gym now that I'm so close to goal but I don't think that's solely Pcos. I think the weight comes off slower the closer you are to goal. I had a ton of hair loss in the beginning but it was never noticeable to others. I've been taking biotin for the last 6 months and its helped tremendously.

Hi, I just saw someone say that they had hair loss in the beginning... Is that common with pcos and lapband? I heard it is slower to lose weight then a normal person without pcos which will probably benefit us since it won't be as noticeable and people won't ask much questions. Has the lapband help with pcos?
