Does anyone else worry they will fail with the band?

I have been trying to lose weight since I was 5 years old, I have obviously failed at everything else or I wouldn't be this big and scheduling surgery. I am just worried that since many of my issues are mental (and I do see a therapist for them) that I could somehow fail at the band and then once again I will hear "Why can't you just lose weight with the band, everyone else does"/

  • I think it's the majority of us pre banders think that. I mean we're all use to failing. And we're going into this without a guarantee that it will work. In my opinion... No weight loss surgery is goi

That is my biggest fear... But I feel that the band will be a constant reminder to eat healthy and not over eat.

It is. Also I can say having been on numerous diets.... when you stop pick a name diet... you revert back to bad habits. With the band... when I stopped my losing stage... I didnt change my eating. Just maybe a few things here and there but my band governed my ability to over eat. And I knew that going back to fast food and high calorie things wouldnt agree with me so I just do not eat them. Thats why I beleive the weight will stay off this time.

I was freaking out I would fail. These boards have helped so much. I no longer have the anxiety of failing. Keep reading the boards. Now I need to find a way to lose Christmas weight.

I feel the same way. I feel like this is my last chance and am so scared I am going to be the one who can't do it. I have a love affair with food and I am worried I won't find the comfort it gives me anywhere else.

I'm worried that I will fail as well. But you just have to be positive, follow all the rules and really, really want it.

I refuse to be a failure this time around.
