  • I am past that point in my life but I have a friend who was banded by my same Dr and he told her it was best to wait until she was at goal. But I would most certainly consult your OBGYN and bariatric

  • I was 13 months post-op when I got pregnant with my son. We tried for 17 years before I was banded and lost 70+ lbs before I got pregnant.

I was banded June 8, 2011; and got pregnant a month later! It was a complete shock because we had been trying for over 9 years with no luck, so I just assumed I couldn't get pregnant! WOAH! I had a miscarriage, unfortunately; but then I really got my butt in gear, and I got pregnant again in January 2012, and had my daughter September 27, 2012. I probably should have waited longer, and honestly I thought it would take longer, so that's why I started trying so early. I do recommend waiting at least a year.

i got pregnant close to 1 year after and losing about 105lbs i did really well during pregnancy only gained 20 lbs and dint have to be unfilled at all. my son is now 8.5 months old and im down 128 lbs and counting :) was the only way i could get pregnant

My doctor says to wait a year. My husband and I have been trying since 2010. I am 31 and my husband is 34. We tried fertility treatments 2011- early 2012. After several tests and doctor visits and cash we still don't have children. When this lap band procedure fell in my lap I could not pass it up as this may be what we need to succeed. Maybe it's a sign saying "Noooo don't do it!" LOL But we both love kids. We know it will happen in Gods time.

I was banded in January of 2009 after 4 years of trying to conceive. Fell pregnant in May of 2010 with bub number 1 and again Feb of 2011 with bub number 2, my Dr gave no time frame for falling pregnant but required me to have a complete unfill when I did fall. My second is now 11 weeks old and I just had my first fill in over a year. I am still only 10 pound above my per pregnancy weight :). Now to get to goal!
