Question About Consultation

I'll be attending my first seminar next Thursday... Would it be a good idea to make my initial consultation appointment beforehand? Also, do I need to get in touch with my pcp?

No need to see the doc prior to consultation, in my opinion. The seminar will give you more questions to ask the doc! Read all you can in advance.

Well, I mean, should I set up my first appointment even with out attending the seminar yet just to get the ball rolling?

I would wait until you attend the seminar. You may not find this Dr is the right one for you... or you may be rethinking your decisions after you go to the seminar. I was self pay so didnt need to get a referral from a Primary Dr.. if you need that you may want to schedule that appointment.

Thanks for your advice. My insurance company did not say anything about needing a referral- only documentation that it is medically necessary. I guess I'll wait until the seminar to find out :). Thanks so much everyone
